Samuel Lee Walker
I used to see Samuel doing landscaping work when I walked my dog through my neighborhood. One day, I approached him, and asked him if I could film a documentary about him.  He agreed, adn gave me a unique insight into his life and work.
Q Shaman MAKEUP TUTORIAL
Two days after the January 6 insurrection, I was inspired to create a piece of satire from the point of view of future prisoner, and self proclaimed Shaman.  How would the "Q Shaman" maintain his "patriotic" makeup while he was locked up?
HOME: THE DANCING HIPPIE
I met Scott Berman at Topanga's Earth Day celebration.  He was dancing barefoot to the live music and he pied pipered a train of kids around him.  I asked him if I could make a short documentary about him, and he agreed.  We met a few weeks later in Venice Beach, CA, and learned that he found a home here and now in the moment.
NEW YEARS DAY PROJECT
In 2021, deep into the pandemic lock down, I started an annual one day collaboration with actor/musician Jeff Pope.  He writes a song in New Orleans on New Year's morning, and he sends it to me in Los Angeles to shoot a video accompanying it.  This is 2021's submission.
THE FAKE "THE LAST PLAYLIST" BEHIND-THE-SCENES DOCUMENTARY
Keeping up with the tone of my live music mockumentary, "The Last Playlist", I made this fake documentary about how it was made.  Spoiler alert: the musicians are REAL, and they play their REAL music.  The non-musicians are all characters that I made up.
HISTORY REPEATS: ASHTON KUTCHER/YOUTUBE Collaboration
In 2011, I was invited by Ashton Kutcher's company, Katalyst, to participate in "IdeaJam", sponsored by YouTube and HP.

We put on teams, and given 48 hours to create a web series proof of concept with "thrash".  Ashton wanted series that would be ultra polarizing.

What is more polarizing than religion and politics?  Not much.
 STATUS
In 2012, nothing was more confusing than one's relationship status on Facebook. I couldn't imagine being a teenager, and navigating the new social media landscape.
I wrote this short film, and made it with some of my students at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, CA.
